Questions at a Glance

What hours are you available?

Therapy sessions are available from 9am-2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

I try to return phone calls within 24 hours during normal business hours (Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm).

What is your approach to therapy?

I have an integrative style, tailoring our work to your personal needs, layered with a multicultural lens.

I focus on who we are as individuals, how we interact with the world around us in distinct and meaningful ways, and how that intersection affects our overall mental health.

I utilize the following therapeutic approaches:
• Relational
• Interpersonal
• Psychodynamic
• Multicultural
• Feminist
• Humanistic
• Cognitive-Behavioral

How do I get started?

The first step is to book a free phone consultation that may last from 15-30 minutes. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to ask questions and see if this feels like a good fit. You can decide from there if you would like to schedule an initial session. This can be scheduled while still on the call, or you can get back to me later if you need time to decide. There's no commitment to begin therapy.

What can I expect before our first session?

I run a paperless practice, which means everything is completed online through my secure client portal. Once you book your first appointment, I will send you an appointment confirmation with a link to the client portal. Within the portal, you can manage your appointments, complete documents, and send messages through a secure messaging system.

What can I expect as we get started?

Therapy begins by getting to know you—your identities, history, challenges, and strengths. Together, we will develop a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy and what you hope to change or develop in the process. Whether you are seeking support for a current concern or exploring experiences from your past, treatment goals and a plan are developed collaboratively and revisited over time to ensure therapy remains responsive to your needs.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 45 or 53 minutes, and most clients choose to meet weekly, especially in the beginning. However, we can discuss a schedule that fits your needs, capacity, and budget.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

This will depend on your presenting concerns, if you wish to focus on one thing specifically, or if you are looking to explore deeper dynamics and change long-standing patterns. I see some clients briefly for focused work or skill building, and some clients engage in care for years. Ultimately, it will always be your choice how long you remain in therapy and if you decide to take a pause, you are always welcome to return at any time.

Do you have a late cancellation or no-show fee?

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. By providing me with 48 hours notice, I have time to reach out to other clients who may wish to be seen sooner. The fee for a late cancellation or no-show is your full session amount. I do make exceptions for true emergencies. Please ask me more about this when we first speak if you have concerns.

How do I know if individual or group therapy would be better for my specific problems?

This is something we can discuss during our phone consult, the initial session, or anytime over the course of treatment as your needs change. I can offer my professional opinion and recommendations, but ultimately it is your choice what feels right for you.
